“Am I somehow blocking myself from manifesting what I want?”
If you’ve asked yourself this question, the answer’s most likely “YES.”
And the fact that you asked it, means you’re in an awakened and empowered state.
Here are the five most common manifestation blocks.
Let’s start clearing!

You don’t truly believe you have the power to manifest what you want.
This block couldn’t be further from the truth. Each one of us possesses more power than we’ll ever understand.
Until you believe that, lacking confidence in your innate power is a limiting belief that deserves your attention (here’s a method that can help). But in the meantime, to amp up your manifesting ability, turn your focus away from your own personal power and instead rely on the power of the universe.
Make the choice to hand over your desire and state the below affirmation as often as you can throughout each day:
Thank you universe for working your magic to [state your desire here]. I feel confident knowing you have the infinite power to make it happen.

You don’t truly believe it’s possible to manifest what you want.
This block is different from the first because it’s not that you don’t believe in your power, it’s that you don’t believe your desire is even a possibility.
As Dr. Wayne Dyer said, “You’ll see it when you believe it.”
I wholeheartedly recommend the book Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo. She’s an inspirational powerhouse who shares limiting belief-busting insights and examples of people who overcame the tiniest odds to make their desires a reality. Proof that truly anything is possible.
Also, take some time to look into your limiting belief.
Get out your emotional excavation tools (journal and pen) and uncover its root cause (childhood trauma, past challenges, etc.).

Part of you is scared of change.
You want something, but do you really want it? Like really?
The most difficult thing about this block is identifying it because your ego tries to mask it as the other blocks mentioned. It doesn’t want to admit it’s scared.
But deep inside, buried behind the “yeah, I totally want this” facade, you’re afraid of how your life may change if you actually get what you want.
Write down all of the things that may change if your desire manifests. Is there anything on this list that makes your insides tighten? That stirs discomfort? If so, why?
For example, if that gorgeous photo you took gets published, will your struggling photographer friend get jealous? Will it change your relationship with her?
Then make the conscious choice to no longer let these fears block your dreams.
Now re-read all of the amazing things that will happen if your desire manifests. Remind yourself of these things often, and especially when you feel resistance.
And remember, there’s so much growth, success, and happiness on the other side of this block.
The desires that make us the most uncomfortable are the ones that propel us into an entirely new, exciting, and prosperous direction.

You’re too focused on what you want to change.
Let’s say you want a new job, but all you do is complain about your current job.
According to the law of attraction, by constantly emitting that negativity, you’re not raising your vibration to a place where you’re aligned with a better (high vibe) job.
In essence, you get what you give.
If in that current negative state (low vibe) you land a new job, it may be a similar situation as your previous workplace (you attracted a new low-vibe job).
To break free of this cycle, start focusing on the good aspects of your current situation. As teeny-tiny as they may be! (Great snacks in the vending machine, always a parking spot, washroom never runs out of toilet paper. Ha!).
So, if someone asks you about your current work situation, instead of complaining, mention those tiny good things.
Or tell them you don’t want to get into it and that you’re looking for a new job and explain exactly what your dream job would be like.
That way, you’ll send out the positivity needed to attract the incredibly amazing, high-vibe job that’s out there waiting for you to align with it.
And if you (your ego) find this painfully difficult and keep looping back to the negative, then just stop talking about the current situation altogether and do things to raise your vibration. When you’re high-vibing, you naturally attract good things.

You’re trying to manifest so badly that you’re in a controlling state rather than a trusting state.
Gabby Bernstein describes this so well in her book Super Attractor, where she refers to it as manic manifesting.
Sometimes, people find themselves in a controlling, fear-based state when trying to manifest.
If you’re putting too much pressure on yourself and the universe, you’re lowering your frequency, causing you to be out of alignment with the very thing you want.
I’ve often heard that it’s best to be as detailed as possible with your desired manifestations. That can be a good technique, but not if you’re already in a stressed state. Then it’s just a recipe for disaster.
Ditch the nitty-gritty details and instead focus on the feeling you’ll have when it happens.
Take five minutes every day to envision what you want and feel what it would be like to get it.
Then state this affirmation:
Thank you universe for working your magic to [state your desire here]. I pass this desire over to you, feeling secure that it, or something even better, is coming to me.
(“… it, or something even better, is coming to me.”) This is the ultimate statement of trust and letting go. It leaves room for something beyond your dreams to unfold. Let the universe one-up you!
